NEW YORK (AP)- Hall of Fame trainer H. Allen Jerkens withdrew Puzzlement from the Belmont Stakes on Thursday after finding a bruise on the colt's right leg.

Jerkens could not say how the injury occurred.

In his most recent start on May 25th, Puzzlement finished strongly to be second to Sunday Break in Belmont's Grade II Peter Pan Handicap, the last New York prep for the Belmont Stakes.

His withdrawal leaves 11 horses in the field for Saturday's race in which War Emblem will try to complete the Triple Crown.
