MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (AP) _ BASF Corp. will close a nylon yarn and carpet fibers plant in Tennessee by mid-August, laying off 315 people.
The Charlotte, N.C.-based company announced the shutdown Monday, saying the Hamblen County plant hadn't shown a profit in several years.
Salaried employees will get a severance package based on years of service, BASF said.
