Motorist, person helping struck by car on California freeway

GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a motorist involved in a single-vehicle crash and a person who stopped to help were struck by a car and killed on a Southern California freeway.
The California Highway Patrol says both crashes happened around 2 a.m. Monday along westbound State Route 22 in Garden Grove.
KABC-TV reports both victims were standing outside the crashed vehicle when they were hit.
No arrests were immediately reported. All westbound lanes were shut down during the investigation.
