PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) — A Virginia man who authorities say distributed drugs and led police on a chase has been sentenced.

The Daily Press reports 38-year-old Christopher Robin Dennis was sentenced on Tuesday to almost 15 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release. Dennis was sentenced for conspiring to distribute and possessing with the intent to distribute heroin and methamphetamine.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia said in a news release that Dennis sold heroin and methamphetamine to a witness in Portsmouth and led police on a high-speed chase to avoid arrest.

The release states that he had been convicted 15 times and had a history of eluding police and distributing drugs.
