CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) _ The Carolina Panthers signed first-round draft choice Rashard Anderson on Friday, two days before rookies are scheduled to report to training camp.

Contract terms for the defensive back, the 23rd selection overall in the draft, were not released. Anderson, a 6-foot-2, 204-pound cornerback from Jackson State will be tried at safety.

The Panthers also agreed to terms with seventh-round pick Lester Towns, a linebacker from Washington. With the signings, Carolina has all seven draft choices under contract before Monday's first practice at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.

``It's great having all of our players signed and in camp,'' Carolina coach George Seifert said. ``Ben Wilson and Rashard Anderson have worked hard to get an agreement. We appreciate their willingness to have this done on time, and it is a promising note that the player recognizes the importance of camp practices.''

The Panthers also waived wide receiver Donald Sellars.
