Life Ceasing Special Weekly Editions as War Ends
Mar. 08, 1991
NEW YORK (AP) _ Life magazine, which published four weekly editions devoted entirely to the Gulf War, said Friday it would return to its regular monthly format because the conflict has ended.
The final weekly issue of ''Life in Time of War'' will be available starting Monday. It features what the magazine says is an exclusive interview with Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf, the U.S. military commander who led allied forces to victory.
The magazine did not pay Schwarzkopf a fee for the interview, Life spokeswoman Sandy Woodhouse said. The Department of Defense forbids military officers from receiving payment for articles or speeches.
Life returns to its regular monthly schedule with its April issue, which contains general-interest as well as war topics and is available starting March 18.
Life is published by Time Inc. Magazine Company, which also publishes such magazines as Time, Sports Illustrated, People and Money. The company is a subsidiary of Time Warner Inc.
