NEW YORK (AP) _ For ``Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' star Sarah Michelle Gellar, moving from a soap opera to prime time has brought some subtle fringe benefits.

``I get fewer prison letters than I did when I was on the soap,'' Gellar says in People magazine's holiday double issue.

After an Emmy Award-winning run on the ABC daytime drama ``All My Children,'' Gellar moved from her native New York to Los Angeles, where she landed the title role in the teen action show on the WB network.

The 20-year-old has also made her first two movies, the autumn box office hit ``I Know What You Did Last Summer'' and ``Scream 2.''

Starring in horror films doesn't frighten her as much as her real life does, especially her rocketing career.

``The really scary thing is how fast it's all happening,'' Gellar said.
