WASHINGTON (AP) _ The WBA junior middleweight title bout between champion Sharmba Mitchell and Elio Ortiz, which was scheduled for Friday, was postponed Monday because Mitchell strained a rib muscle.

Mitchell, who was injured during training late last week, was examined at Laurel Regional Hospital and advised not to train for at least three weeks. A new date for the fight has not been set.

The postponement leaves two title bouts on the card at the MCI Center.

William Joppy will defend his WBA middleweight title against Julio Cesar Green, and Keith Holmes will defend his WBC middleweight crown against Andrew Council.
