Jagr Out for Third Straight Game
Apr. 27, 1999
PITTSBURGH (AP) _ Jaromir Jagr, the three-time NHL scoring champion, did not dress again Tuesday night for the Pittsburgh Penguins' playoff game against the New Jersey Devils.
Jagr aggravated a groin injury late in the Devils' victory in Game 1 and did not play as the Penguins won Game 2 and Game 3.
Jagr skated in a sweatsuit at the Penguins' practice rink earlier in the day and said he felt better following an acupuncture treatment Monday night. He probably would have played if the Penguins had trailed in the series, but now expects to return for Game 5 Friday.
Coach Kevin Constantine left the decision up to Jagr, but did not want him to return too quickly and aggravate the injury.
