NEW YORK (AP) — The game between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees was held up while emergency medical workers attended to a fan who fainted in the front row.
Play resumed following a 7-minute stoppage before the start of the sixth inning. In the bottom half of the inning, the Yankees announced the man had fainted but was stable and alert after receiving medical attention. The team said he would be taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The fan was seated next to a camera well adjacent to the Blue Jays' dugout on the third base side. Toronto players stood on the top step to see what was happening, while Yankees players watched from the field.
The man sat slumped over as medical workers wheeled him up the aisle and took him inside. He was receiving oxygen as he was transported along a Yankee Stadium concourse.
