TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) _ Quincy Brewer scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Arizona State past Northern Arizona 76-62 Friday night.

Guard Ron Riley scored 19 points as Arizona State (4-2) posted its ninth straight victory over the Lumberjacks (3-5) and the 24th of their 27 meetings.

Riley scored five points to key a 7-0 run and give Arizona State a 58-44 lead with 8:45 remaining, the Sun Devils' greatest edge of the game.

Guard Charles Thomas followed with two layups to lead the Lumberjacks on a 9-0 run and pull them within 58-53 with 6:08 to play.

Brewer halted the Lumberjack run with a pair of free throws, then scored four points to lead a 7-1 run which put Arizona State ahead 67-55 with 3:24 remaining.

Northern Arizona, paced by junior forward Scott Taylor's six consecutive points, took a 12-11 lead with 12:51 to play in the first half.

Arizona State rallied with forward Joe Zaletel capping an 8-0 run to give the Sun Devils a 19-12 lead.

The Sun Devils, sparked by a steal and layup by freshman guard Duane Davis, used another 8-0 run over the final three minutes of the first half to lead 37-29 at the break.

Jermone Riley, Ron Riley's younger brother, and Taylor each scored 12 points for Northern Arizona. Thomas finished with 11.

Jeremy Veal scored 16 points for Arizona State.
