BROCKWAY, Pa. (AP) — Weather officials say a tornado touched down in western Pennsylvania, but no injuries were reported.
The National Weather Service office in Pittsburgh says Tuesday's EF-1 tornado was confirmed in Jefferson County just south of Brockway packing winds of 85 to 95 mph.
The tornado touched down at about 4:10 p.m. Tuesday and continued across the border into Elk County, snapping and uprooting trees, toppling a truck and doing "facial damage" to structures.
Forecasters say it's the sixth confirmed tornado of the year in the office's forecast area "which is the average number of tornadoes we see in a calendar year."
