Showers, thunderstorms in forecast for Oklahoma, Arkansas

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for much of Oklahoma and Arkansas as a cold front moves into the area.
The National Weather Service said isolated rainstorms were possible across southern and eastern Oklahoma Saturday morning and that additional thunderstorms could redevelop across eastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas Saturday afternoon.
Forecasters say severe weather is not anticipated, but gusty winds heavy rain could be possible with the strongest storms.
There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms will remain across parts of southeastern Oklahoma Saturday night, and thunderstorms are possible in western Oklahoma on Sunday.
Heat index values in the mid-90s to around 103 degrees will be possible across the region Saturday. Indices of around 100 to 103 degrees are expected over parts of eastern Oklahoma and west central Arkansas.
