During halftime of the Philadelphia 76ers game against the Charlotte Hornets tonight, 76 couples plan to be married. It is the third time in four seasons the Sixers are celebrating Valentine's Day by hosting a six-minute halftime wedding ceremony at center court. The couples were chosen to participate from among 125 applicants.
Phil Jackson will stroll across a familiar floor and sit down on the visitors' side at the United Center tonight, his first visit to Chicago as coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Jackson coached Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and a supporting cast of Bulls to six championships.
The New Jersey Nets waived center Michael Cage. The 6-foot-9, 15-year veteran averaged 1.4 points and 4.1 rebounds in 20 appearances for the Nets this season. Cage was on the injured list three times this season with back problems and a sprained toe.
