SALT LAKE CITY (AP) _ Karl Malone scored 21 points and Olden Polynice had a season-high 15 on 7-of-9 shooting as the Utah Jazz beat the Vancouver Grizzlies 101-83 on Wednesday night.
Donyell Marshall added 19 points as the Jazz, who have the best winning percentage in the Western Conference, won for the eighth time in nine games. Utah also has won 12 of its last 14.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim scored 19 points to lead Vancouver and Mike Bibby and Michael Dickerson each scored 17, but they couldn't prevent the Grizzlies from losing their fifth straight.
Malone scored nine in the third quarter as the Jazz pulled away. And Polynice, a 7-foot center who isn't usually expected to score, provided a nice lift for the Jazz with his strong inside game.
Polynice is on a roll right now, scoring in double figures for the third straight game. He scored 10 points in each of the last two games, Monday against Atlanta and Sunday at Phoenix.
