Disney Chairman Makes Quick Recovery from Heart Surgery

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Walt Disney Co. Chairman Michael Eisner left the hospital Thursday, mending quickly from quadruple heart bypass surgery.
Eisner went home at lunchtime, with doctors saying he's on a fast track to recovery because of his age - he's only 52 - and general good health, Disney spokesman John Dreyer said.
''He's walking. He's fine. He's made a remarkable recovery,'' said Ron Wise, a spokesman for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where Eisner underwent the surgery on Saturday.
Eisner had complained of pain a day earlier. Doctors said he had not suffered a heart attack, but they detected coronary blockages severe enough to warrant an immediate operation.
''I think he's basically a healthy person who's had some arterial problems and they've been corrected,'' Wise said. ''There was no damage to his heart.''
Eisner was expected to return to work at Disney's Burbank headquarters within three or four weeks. In the meantime, he'll do some work by phone, paced by his doctors, Dreyer said.
