SNOWBASIN, Utah (AP) _ A member of the Canadian Alpine skiing team was seriously injured in a training accident Friday morning and was airlifted to a hospital in Salt Lake City.

Dave Anderson, 21, from British Columbia, had multiple fractures to his arms and legs and a possible head injury, said Jess Gomez, a spokesman for LDS Hospital. He was conscious and alert, Gomez said, but was in serious condition.

Details of the training accident were not immediately available. Friday was an off day in the Alpine program.
