INASHIKI, Japan (AP) _ Peter Teravainen of the United States kept his one-stroke lead today as he shot a 4-under-par 67 in the $819,700 Descente Classic Munsingwear Cup Golf Tournament.
Teravainen, seeking his second title in the Japan PGA Tour, shot five birdies and a bogey for a three-day total of 201.
Travainen told reporters he tried to concentrate on putting although he was distracted by rain that forced him to wipe his glasses occasionally.
One stroke behind was his fellow American Todd Hamilton, who shot a 5-under-par 66, bringing his three-day total to 202. Seeking his seventh Japan PGA tour title, Hamilton scattered five birdies Saturday.
Japanese pro Shingo Katayama shot an eagle, two birdies and two bogeys for a 2-under-par 69 and a combined score of 204 to rank third.
Brandt Jobe, a former UCLA star from Littleton, Colorado, shot three birdies and three bogeys for a 1-under-par 70, sharing fourth place with Peter McWhinney of Australia and Tsuyoshi Yoneyama of Japan.
