PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police say a man was stabbed to death inside a homeless shelter in central Philadelphia and a person was taken into custody.

Officers and paramedics were called to the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission in Center City, where the man was pronounced dead just after 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Police took one person into custody and recovered a weapon. The names of the victim and the person in custody weren't immediately released.

The nonprofit organization founded in 1878 and formerly called the Sunday Breakfast Association says on its website that it serves three meals daily to anyone in need and also has a men's shelter and long-term recovery program and a women's transitional housing program.
