No injuries after cruise ship runs upon vessels
Aug. 14, 2016
BOSTON (AP) — Nobody was injured when a cruise ship suffered a mechanical failure and drifted into a group of vessels stationed in the Boston Harbor.
The U.S. Coast Guard says the Boston Harbor Cruises ship Regency was returning to Long Wharf pier with passengers just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday when the incident happened.
The Coast Guard says the Regency ran upon two other cruise ships, the Aurora and the Rookie, and a speed boat, the Codzilla. All of the vessels belong to Boston Harbor Cruises.
A Coast Guard investigation determined there were passengers aboard the Rookie and the Aurora at the time. No injuries have been reported.
The Coast Guard says the Codzilla was damaged and will be repaired before resuming transportation of passengers.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
