PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Rasheed Brokenborough scored 17 points and Marc Jackson had 15 points and 12 rebounds Saturday as Temple yet again beat Penn, 69-45, on Saturday.

It was Temple's 16th straight victory over the Quakers (2-2), who last beat the Owls in the 1981-82 season.

The Owls (3-2) hold a 32-17 edge in the cross-town rivalry, which began in 1896.

Temple's zone defense held Penn to 29 percent shooting and the Owls held a 58-31 rebounding edge.

Temple held only an eight-point lead early in the second half but went on a 12-0 run to take a 48-28 lead on a jump shot by Lynard Stewart with nine minutes left to play.

The lead reached 60-38 on a three-point shot by Brokenborough with 3:18 remaining.

Stewart added 15 points for Temple and Julian Dunkley added nine points. Jed Ryan led the Quakers with 11 points and four rebounds. Ryan was the only Quaker in double figures. Jamie Lyren and Garett Kreitz scored nine points each for Penn.
