Two Dead In Hostage Situation

BRECKSVILLE, Ohio (AP) _ A man shot and killed two security guards at a hospital and briefly held another guard hostage on Friday before being captured, authorities said.
Justin Claytor Jr., 28, was taken to the Brecksville city jail, said Mayor Jack Hruby. No charges were immediately filed, he said.
Authorities received a report Friday evening that a man shot and killed the two guards and took a third hostage at the Brecksville Veterans Administration hospital.
''We attempted to talk the suspect out, but before we got there, he had released the hostage,'' said Lawrence Mack, Cuyahoga Heights police chief and leader of the police team that surrounded the hospital.
Mack said the man, who was not thought to be a patient at the hospital at the time, had a .45-caliber automatic pistol.
''He played games with us for a while, running back and forth across the hallway with the 45. He attempted to climb up into the ceiling and he fell and then he was captured by officers,'' Mack said.
The names of the two security guards were being withheld so relatives could be notified, Hruby said, adding that he did not know the name of the guard who was held hostage.
The security guards died after being taken to Parma Community General Hospital, said nursing supervisor Donna Courtwright.
Brecksville is about 20 miles southeast of Cleveland.
