May. 29, 1987
DALLAS (AP) _ The president of Braniff Inc. said Friday he has resigned from the airline to pursue other interests but will remain with the company as a consultant.
The company said Patrick Foley, vice chairman of Braniff, is expected to be elected chief executive officer to replace Ron Ridgeway. Foley's anticipated appointment would put him in charge of the company's day-to-day operations.
''Mr. Ridgeway has contributed significantly to the growth of Braniff so he leaves us with the sincere appreciation of all Braniff employees,'' Foley said in a statement.
