MOSCOW (AP) _ The owner of a Russian hockey team that produced a number of NHL players was shot to death, according to Russian news reports.
Andrei Trifonov, 34, was killed Oct. 10 when two gunmen opened fire on his car when it stopped at the gates of his home in suburban Moscow, the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper reported.
Trifonov owned Khimik Voskresensk, which sent a Igor Larionov to the Detroit Red Wings, Vyacheslav Kozlov to the Atlanta Thrashers, and Andrei Markov to the Montreal Canadiens.
