ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) _ Graham Holdings Co. (GHC) on Wednesday reported second-quarter earnings of $46.6 million.

On a per-share basis, the Arlington, Virginia-based company said it had net income of $8.63. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and to extinguish debt, were $12.05 per share.

The education and media company posted revenue of $672.7 million in the period.

Graham Holdings shares have increased slightly since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased slightly more than 5 percent.
