DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A central Iowa woman has been charged with insurance fraud after state regulators say she submitted an application for insurance coverage containing false information.
Joy Marie Heldt of Madrid, who was an insurance agent, was initially charged last month after an investigation by the Iowa Insurance Division's fraud bureau. The agency said Tuesday Heldt's insurance license has been revoked.
Heldt, who is 48, was arrested on June 6. She is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on July 23.
Her attorney Tim McCarthy says she'll be entering a plea of not guilty.
