OXFORD, Maine (AP) — Racing lovers are going to get their fill at the biggest race of the year in Maine.

Drivers from as far away as North Carolina and Georgia hope to qualify for the Oxford 250. The race will be held Sunday evening.

Favorites include Georgia's Bubba Pollard, two-time 250 winner Eddie MacDonald, and last year's winner, Curtis Gerry, of Waterboro.

The 45th running of the Oxford 250 is held each year at Oxford Plains Speedway. The race track with seating for 14,000 opened in 1950.
