KENAI BED TAX
KENAI — The Kenai Peninsula Borough is considering asking voters to approve a 12 percent sales tax on temporary lodging after officials have voted down bed taxes twice in the past year. SENT: 130 words. UPCOMING: 250 words by noon.

— HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT — A Palmer man with two previous convictions for eluding was arrested after a high-speed chase.
— ANCHORAGE PLAYGROUND FIRE — For the second time in two years, an arson fire has destroyed playground equipment at an Anchorage elementary school.
— KODIAK ARSON — Alaska State Troopers are investigating an arson fire that destroyed two vehicles in Kodiak.
