Falcons WR Dwight To Have Surgery
Sep. 14, 2000
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) _ Wide receiver Tim Dwight of the Atlanta Falcons had to undergo an emergency appendectomy Thursday.
Dwight, also a kick return specialist, will be sidelined for 2-4 weeks. The procedure was done with a laproscope, which shortens recovery time considerably.
Coach Dan Reeves said rookie Darrick Vaughn will replace Dwight on the kickoff return team, Winslow Oliver on the punt return team and Eugene Baker will be activated to replace Dwight at wide receiver.
When Dwight came to the team's practice facility complaining of abdominal pain, the team's medical staff put Dwight through a series of tests and determined he had appendicitis.
