HOUSTON (AP) _ Rodrick Rhodes, one of only four signed players on the Houston Rockets, will be sidelined for up to 10 weeks after tearing a chest muscle while lifting weights.

Rhodes, 25, a second-year swingman, was undergoing surgery Friday for the injury, described as a torn pectoral tendon.

``This hurts us with our depth,'' Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich said Thursday. ``It puts us in a tough position.''

The Rockets head into next week, when NBA teams can start signing players for the lockout-shortened season, with only three other players under contract _ Hakeem Olajuwon, Brent Price and Roy Rogers.
