Thai Wins WBC Flyweight Crown

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) _ Pongsaklek Singwangcha of Thailand won the WBC flyweight title Friday, defeating defending champion Malcolm Tunacao of the Philippines with a first-round technical knockout.
The fight, in the northern Thai province of Phichit, was stopped 2 minutes, 43 seconds into the round after Pongsaklek knocked down Tunacao for the third time with a relentless combination of punches.
Tunacao entered the bout with a record of 11 wins, including seven knockouts, and one draw. Pongsaklek raised his record to 39-2.
