Police Say Woman Stabbed Date After He Suggested Abortion
Jan. 27, 1994
HIGHLAND BEACH, Fla. (AP) _ A woman allegedly stabbed her date to death after he told her she should have an abortion.
Mary Kathleen Juhnke, 23, was arrested Tuesday while driving erratically a car owned by the victim, 49-year-old Richard P. Ramaglia.
Juhnke told authorities that she and Ramaglia had met a few days earlier through a personal ad. On Tuesday, she said, she told him she was 13 weeks pregnant and planned to put the child up for adoption, but he told her giving up a child was wrong and she should have an abortion, investigators said.
''That's what got her upset,'' said sheriff's Detective Sgt. William Springer.
She took a butcher knife and stabbed Ramaglia in the side, Springer said.
