PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) _ Susie Jarosch scored the game-winning basket with 2 seconds remaining as Washington State overcame a halftime deficit and beat No. 20 Southern Cal 62-61 Saturday night.

Jarosch's basket answered Tina Thompson's jumper with 9 seconds left, which had put the Trojans (8-4, 1-3 Pac-10) ahead 61-60. The Cougars (9-4, 2-2) trailed by as many as 10 points in the first half and by 27-22 at halftime.

Washington State scored the first six points of the second half to take a 28-27 lead, and increased the lead to 42-35 with 10:07 remaining. Then the Trojans went on a 10-0, with Karleen Shields and Audrey Gomez combining for eight points.

Kristin Erickson came off the bench to lead Washington State with 12 points, Jarosch scored 11 and Kireen Ellis added 10.

Southern Cal was led by Shields with 24 points and Tina Thompson added 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The Cougars won despite making just 25 of 67 shots to USC's 23 of 57.
