CALGARY, Alberta (AP) _ Sergey Kharin scored two goals to lead Moscow Selects to a 7-3 victory Tuesday over Team Canada in exhibition hockey.

The game before 4,737 spectators at the Olympic Saddledome was the first of an eight-game series between Team Canada and the Selects, an all-star team composed of players from Spartak, Dynamo and Red Army of the Soviet elite division.

Kharin goals came in the first period and Canada's Fabian Joseph added one in the second to set up the final 20 minutes.

Igor Vyazmikin added to the Soviets' lead with power-play goal with Trent Yawney in the penalty box for closing his hand around the puck.

Osipov scored next for Moscow when his shot from the side of the net deflected off the skate of Team Canada defenseman Zorley Zalapski.

Valery Shiraev pushed the Selects' lead to 5-1 with a wrist shot that caught Canadian goalie Alaine Raymond napping.

Team Canada fought back with Mike Millar's goal, a slapshot after a side- to-side pass from Martin Bouliane, and then one by Cliff Ronning on a power play.

But Moscow's Sergey Nemchinov scored two quick goals in the final three mintues to stop Canada's comeback.
