Jun. 21, 2000
WASHINGTON (AP) _ The Treasury Department said Wednesday it is taking steps to help victims of wildfires in Colorado who own U.S. savings bonds.
The department's Bureau of Public Debt said it is expediting procedures for the replacement or payment of savings bonds for owners living in the counties of Park, Jefferson, and Larimer.
The expedited procedures are effective immediately and will remain in effect through the end of July, the Bureau of Public Debt said.
