Ben Dobbin Named Rochester Correspondent

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) _ Ben Dobbin, an editor on the General Desk of The Associated Press, has been named correspondent in Rochester.
The appointment was announced Monday by Albany Chief of Bureau Lew Wheaton.
Dobbin joined the AP in London in 1983 and transferred to the AP's national news desk in New York City in 1990. He worked for the Champaign-Urbana (Ill.) News-Gazette and Chicago's City News Bureau before joining the AP.
Dobbin is a graduate of University College Dublin in Ireland and earned a master's degree at the University of Illinois.
He succeeds Hilary Appelman, who recently transferred to the AP's International Desk in New York City.
