Promontory Gold Wins at Belmont

NEW YORK (AP) _ Promontory Gold and Country Hideaway won Grade III races Saturday at Belmont Park.
Promontory Gold edged Hurricane Bertie by a half-length in the $110,900 Hill Prince Stakes for 3-year-olds, and Country Hideaway beat Hurricane Bertie by three-quarters of a length in the $109,400 Vagrancy Handicap for 3-year-old fillies.
Possibly Perfect, ridden by Edgar Prado, ran 1 1-8 miles on the inner turf course in 1:49 and paid $6.20 and $2. The colt by Gone West from the Northern Baby mare earned $66,540 for his second victory in five starts this year.
Country Hideaway, ridden by Jerry Bailey, ran 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:17 and paid $4.30, $2.90 and $2.30. She earned $65,640 for her second victory in two starts this year and seventh in nine career starts.
