Jul. 24, 2018
LEWES, Del. (AP) — A southern Delaware fire department chief has been charged with disorderly conduct after a video surfaced of him urinating in a canal.
Lewes police arrested 51-year-old William Buckaloo after a resident called 911 at about 1:15 a.m. on July 16 regarding two men and two women talking loudly near her house boat about jumping into the water.
Video taken by the resident shows Buckaloo and another man, clad only in their underwear, urinating into Lewes Canal before climbing onto a boat.
Buckaloo was arrested Thursday. He has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for a court appearance on Aug. 10.
Buckaloo did not immediately return a telephone message left at his home Tuesday.
A spokesman for the fire department also did not immediately respond to phone and email messages.
