Florida Atlantic defeats East Carolina 72-63

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) — Justin Massey had 17 points, five rebounds and five assists to lead Florida Atlantic to a 72-66 win over East Carolina on Wednesday night.
Marquan Botley tallied 15 points and six assists and C.J. Turman added 14 points for Florida Atlantic (3-3). The Owls shot 52 percent from the field led by 5-of-6 shooting from 3-point range for Massey.
Caleb White led East Carolina (4-4) with 18 points and five rebounds, which included going 6 of 6 from the line. B.J. Tyson chipped in 16 points including 12 of 13 made free throws to lead the Pirates to 91.7 percent shooting from the line.
Down three early, Massey hit a 3-pointer to knot the score at 14 then hit another 3 two possessions later as a part of a 20-4 run for the Owls, taking a 12 point lead at the half. Despite five lead changes in the first half, the Florida Atlantic held on in the second.
