0 SALT LAKE CITY (AP) _ Karl Malone scored 24 points and the Utah Jazz outscored Portland 25-1 in the first 7:10 of the second half to defeat the Trail Blazers 110-86 Thursday night.

Kenny Anderson led Portland with 15 points and Rasheed Wallace added 12 before being ejected with two technical fouls with 10:09 remaining as the Trail Blazers lost their fifth straight on the road and for the sixth time in their last seven games.

Portland's Gary Trent hit one of two free throws with 11:40 left in the third quarter to trim Utah's lead to 53-45. The Blazers did not score again until 4:30 was left in the period, when Utah held a 78-47 advantage.

Bryon Russell scored 5 of his 16 points in the run.

Utah led by many as 35 points late in the third period and twice again in the fourth quarter.

Malone grabbed 11 rebounds and Stockton handed out 13 assists, 10 in the first half. Portland shot just 38 percent from the field (33-87).
