RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) _ Goalie Trevor Kidd of the Carolina Hurricanes is expected to miss 2-3 weeks after breaking his right index finger in a game against Washington.

Kidd injured the finger midway through the second period in the 2-1 loss to the Capitals Saturday. A shot went underneath a glove padding and caught Kidd on the finger.

Kidd has a 7-8 record with a 2.46 goals-against average.
