European Stock Markets End Mixed

LONDON (AP) _ European stocks ended mixed Wednesday, as gains in media issues were partially offset by weakness in automobiles and telecommunication stocks.
The Dow Jones Stoxx Total Market Index of shares in European companies rose 0.76 points to 286.41. The Dow Jones Euro Stoxx Total Market Index, which tracks companies in countries that joined the single currency, was up 0.17 points at 283.82.
The Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50 Index rose 2.9 points to 3,735.7, and the Dow Jones Stoxx 50 Index was up 12.7 points at 3,646.5.
In domestic markets, The Financial Times-Stock Exchange 100-share index rose 19.20 points, or 0.37 percent, to 5,214.7; the CAC 40 Index in Paris slipped 4.87 points, or 0.11 percent, to 4,623.2; and Frankfurt's Xetra DAX fell 42.59 points, or 0.79 percent, to 5,348.00.
