ALMATY, Kazakstan (AP) _ A MiG-29 fighter jet returning from an international aerospace show crashed in southeast Kazakstan while returning to base, the air force said Tuesday. The pilot was killed.
Fragments of the plane were found several hundred yards from the runway at an air field in the Taldyqorghan region of the former Soviet republic, military officials told the ITAR-Tass news agency.
The cause of the crash Monday was under investigation.
