Aug. 31, 2018
HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) — Authorities in Connecticut say a transit bus struck a police cruiser while the officer was making a traffic stop.
WFSB-TV reports the crash happened Thursday morning in Hamden. Police say the officer had stopped a car for passing a standing school bus when the transit bus struck the cruiser's driver side door. The door bent backwards and hit the officer's leg.
No injuries were reported. The cruiser was towed away from the scene.
State law requires drivers to move over when approaching a stationary emergency vehicle.
