MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) — Police in Mississippi have arrested a suspect in a shooting death last fall.

Meridian Police Sgt. Dareall Thompson told The Meridian Star that 32-year-old Alfonzo Lashawn McDonald was charged Thursday with capital murder.

McDonald was already in jail on charges involving a home invasion last month.

Thompson says McDonald is charged in the Oct. 13 shooting death of 36-year-old Tony Maurice Wilson. Wilson was found dead in a car. Police think robbery was the motive in the shooting.

Thompson said a handgun was found and sent to the state crime lab for analysis.

McDonald is to appear in court Monday. There is no word on whether he has a lawyer yet.
