Whitney Houston Suffers Miscarriage
Jul. 14, 1994
NEW YORK (AP) _ Whitney Houston, who announced last week that she was pregnant with her second child, suffered a miscarriage days later, her spokeswoman said Wednesday.
Miss Houston suffered the miscarriage Friday while on tour in Houston and canceled her performance there. She and her husband, singer Bobby Brown, spent the weekend in the mountains in Colorado, spokeswoman Emily Bear said.
''She's sad but they hope to have more children,'' Bear said.
The 30-year-old Miss Houston, who won eight American Music awards and three Grammys this year, is continuing her tour and will perform with Kenny G at the World Cup finale on Sunday.
Miss Houston and Brown have a 1-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina.
Miss Houston, co-star of the 1993 film ''The Bodyguard,'' is the only recording artist to have seven consecutive No. 1 hits.
