MIAMI (AP) _ Perry Ellis International Inc. (PERY) on Thursday reported a fiscal second-quarter loss of $3.3 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Miami-based company said it had a loss of 21 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 16 cents per share.

The clothing maker posted revenue of $199.3 million in the period.

Perry Ellis shares have increased almost 10 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 26 percent in the last 12 months.
