AC Milan Wins 2-0 Without Weah

AC Milan, seeking its first UEFA Cup title, beat Girondins Bordeaux 2-0 Tuesday night in the first leg of the quarterfinals on goals by Stefanio Eranio and Roberto Baggio.
Eranio scored in the 29th minute and Baggio scored with 16 minutes to go at Milan. AC Milan, which has a seven-point lead in the Italian League with 10 games left, was missing George Weah, who was suspended for the game.
Jurgen Klinsmann scored in the 16th minute, his 12th goal in seven UEFA Cup games, and Mehmet Scholl scored with one minute left in the first half as Bayern Munich beat visiting Nottingham Forest 2-1. Steve Chettle scored in the 17th minute for Nottingham Forest.
Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven played a 2-2 tie in Spain. Luc Nilis put the Dutch team ahead in the fourth minute, but Barcelona tied it in the 20th on a goal by Jose Maria Bakero. Nilis scored again five minutes into the second half, but Abelardo Fernandez tied the score 10 minutes later.
Slavia Prague upset visiting AS Roma 2-0 on goals by Karel Poborsky in the fifth minute and Robert Vagner in the 50th.
The return legs will be played in two weeks.
