LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) _ On to Royalty scored her fifth straight victory, winning the $50,000 Beaumont Stakes on Saturday at Keeneland by two lengths.
The Florida-bred filly passed pacesetter Fulbright Scholar, who finished sixth in the nine-horse field, at the top of the stretch and then held off Plate Queen for the victory.
Tilt My Halo was another two lengths back in third.
On to Royalty covered the seven furlongs, 184 feet in 1:26 3-5 to earn $46,680 for owners Ben Perkins Sr. and Neil Litten.
She paid $3.20, $2.80 and $2.20, while Plate Queen returned $8.40 and $4.80. Tilt My Halo paid $3.
The victory, On to Royalty's sixth in seven career starts, increased her earnings to $257,148.
The Beaumont is a prep race for the $200,000-added, Grade I Ashland Stakes on April 23.
