BOSTON (AP) _ Antoine Walker hit a 3-pointer with seven-tenths of a second left to give the Boston Celtics an 82-81 victory over the Miami Heat on Friday night.
Walker scored 12 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter as the Celtics rallied with a 18-6 run in the final five minutes.
Tim Hardaway led the Heat with 19 points while P.J. Brown scored 16 with 14 rebounds as the Heat fell to 0-2 against Boston this season.
Hardaway's layup and two free throws by Brown gave the Heat an 81-77 lead with 40 seconds left. Walker hit a jump shot with 28 seconds showing, and the Celtics then forced Miami into a 24-second violation to set up the winning 3-pointer.
Boston began its winning run when Paul Pierce tipped the ball in with 4:36 left, then made the first of two free throws, rebounded his own miss and hit a jump shot to cut the Miami lead to 75-69 with 4:18 left.
Walker's 3-pointer sliced the Miami margin to 75-72 with 3:43 left, and he followed with a jump shot 43 seconds later.
Hardaway led the Heat with 14 points in the first half while Brown and Mashburn scored 10 each as Miami led 46-33 at intermission.
